IVECO´s used vehicle brand OK TRUCKS is taking care for the health of truck drivers by cooperating with 24/7 ASSISTANCE to develop and implement a European Driver Care programme. The three-year contract comprises the realisation of three different modules managed by 24/7 ASSISTANCE, which are dedicated to drivers throughout Europe with IVECO preowned vehicles purchased from OK TRUCKS. The runtime of the packages is limited to one year, regardless of which driver is operating the vehicle. An extension is possible at any time.

“We take it for granted that parcels and goods arrive on time and that supply chains function reliably – but far too little we pay attention to the drivers,” emphasises Jarno Bor, Managing Director at 24/7 ASSISTANCE. “It is all the more pleasing that OK TRUCKS is now setting a very strong signal in this respect,” he says.

“It is not only important to us that we sell reliable pre-owned vehicles,” adds Mariela Krassevich, Marketing & Business Intelligence Responsible Pre Owned Business EMEA at IVECO. “It is also of particular concern that the drivers aboard our vehicles are well – anytime they are on European roads, weekdays, weekends, day and night,” she continues. “With this service, we are a trailblazer in the commercial vehicle sector.”

The programme contracted by OK TRUCKS includes the modules “Driver Care”, “Driver and Truck Care” and “Payment Care”. Driver Care includes first aid for the driver. If they dial the IVECO assistance number for a health problem such as headache, back pain, or an infection, 24/7 ASSISTANCE organises a nearby parking space, transport to a doctor and, if necessary, overnight accommodation in a hotel. The expenses are covered up to a maximum of 350 euros per case. In addition, the Driver and Truck Care includes one towing per year up to a maximum of 1500 euros. If the truck cannot be fixed immediately after a technical breakdown, 24/7 ASSISTANCE will provide overnight accommodation and catering as well as transport to and from the workshop. The third bookable module is named “Payment Care” and ensures payment security. Customers can set up a deposit to cover the costs that exceed 350 euros, for example when it comes to expensive towing abroad. All three modules are available individually or in combination with each other.
